Rapid and Coordinated Action by NCB INTERPOL Officers in Podgorica and Bar Department of Security Locates and Detains Person Wanted by International Warrant
Officers from NCB Interpol Podgorica and the Bar Department of Security conducted a joint coordinated operation yesterday, during which they located and detained a person wanted by an international warrant issued by NCB Interpol Sarajevo. Through targeted search activities, gathering and exchanging operational data with international partner agencies, police officers located and detained D.V., who had an international warrant issued against him by the Basic Court in Banja Luka for suspicion of committing the criminal offense of serious theft over an extended period, punishable by up to eight years in prison under Bosnian law. The individual had been on the run for more than five years, but thanks to intensive international operational cooperation, intelligence exchange, and coordinated efforts by NCB INTERPOL officers in Podgorica and the Bar Department of Security, he was located in Čanj, Bar municipality, and detained within 24 hours. He will undergo extradition proceedings for his extradition to Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the relevant authorities in Montenegro, led by the Ministry of Justice, making the final decision according to law.
