New Courtyard of Nikšić Gymnasium - For Future Generations

Today, work has begun on the arrangement of the access plateau of the Public Institution Gymnasium "Stojan Cerović" in Nikšić, marking the start of another significant project aimed at improving the school environment and creating a safer, more functional, and modern setting for students and staff. Dr. Vladimir Božović, Rector of the University of Montenegro, Marko Kovačević, President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Milica Lalatović-Žižić, Chairwoman of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, and Dragan Mijušković, Director of "Stojan Cerović" Gymnasium, attended the event. Previously, new furniture was provided for the school, state-of-the-art ICT equipment was purchased, procedures for equipping science labs were initiated, and a tender process for reconstructing the building through an energy efficiency program, in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mining, is underway. With today's commencement of courtyard works, which include reconstruction of existing surfaces, construction of new pedestrian pathways, landscaping, new lighting, stormwater drainage and irrigation systems, as well as urban furniture installation, a new phase in the development of "Stojan Cerović" Gymnasium is symbolically launched, to the great satisfaction of all citizens of Nikšić, emphasized Minister Jakšić-Stojanović. "This courtyard arrangement, following previous investments in educational infrastructure and procurement of computer equipment funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation, means creating an even better and more pleasant environment for all students of the Gymnasium. The works include removal of deteriorated surfaces and construction of new paths and platforms, installation of curbs and paving, landscaping, solving stormwater drainage issues, building irrigation systems, and installing new external lighting and urban furniture."
