No one is protected and there is no tolerance for breaking the law: Five inspectorates conducted 41 inspections of pellet producers
On October [date not specified], beginning at 12 noon, a coordinated inspection campaign targeting pellet producers was carried out, involving five inspectorates simultaneously: the labor inspectorate, market inspectorate, tax inspectorate, forestry inspectorate, and occupational safety inspectorate. The campaign aimed to verify the legality of pellet producers’ operations, compliance with regulations within the remit of the participating inspectorates, and to curb irregularities that jeopardize employees’ rights, public revenues, and lawful market operations. During the campaign, 41 inspections were conducted. Ten misdemeanor notices were issued, totaling €4,700 in fines; one request was submitted to initiate misdemeanor proceedings; and in 13 cases, companies were notified of identified irregularities and the need to rectify them. These pellet plants will again be subject to the attention of the competent inspectorates in the coming period, in order to verify relevant circumstances in accordance with their legal powers and prevent any potential evasion of inspection oversight. This campaign sends a clear message to all pellet producers that the law must be obeyed and that no business entity can count on irregularities remaining undetected. The Coordinating Body for the Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight will continue to act decisively, without a selective approach, with the aim of protecting the public interest and establishing equal operating conditions for all business entities.
