Joint Investments by the Ministry of Interior and the US Embassy Further Strengthen the Anti-Corruption Department
Minister of Interior Danilo Šaranović and Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the US Embassy in Montenegro Michael Keays opened new premises for the Ministry of Interior's Anti-Corruption Department, creating significantly better working conditions for this organizational unit. The US Embassy, through the ICITAP program, donated modern IT equipment and office furniture worth nearly 30,000 euros, while the Ministry of Interior allocated over 120,000 euros for the renovation of the premises in the 'Limenka' building. Minister Šaranović thanked the US Embassy for the valuable donation and ongoing support, emphasizing that this project is another example of successful cooperation aimed at strengthening institutions and improving the rule of law. He expressed confidence that improved conditions, new equipment, and strong support from international partners will further empower the Anti-Corruption Department and contribute to better results in fighting corruption. Chargé d'Affaires Michael Keays expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the US Embassy and the Ministry of Interior in enhancing the capacity of the Anti-Corruption Department to strengthen police integrity. The Ministry of Interior will continue to invest, with the support of international partners, in further strengthening the capacity of the Anti-Corruption Department to more effectively combat corruption, enhance police integrity, and maintain citizens' trust in institutions.
