Germany Continues to Provide Strong Support for Montenegro's Judicial Reforms and European Path

Minister of Justice Bojan Božović paid an official visit to Berlin, where he signed a Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro and the Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of the Federal Republic of Germany until the end of 2028 with Minister Stefanija Hubig. The cooperation will focus on judicial reform, alignment with EU legal standards, improving court efficiency, strengthening the fight against organized crime and corruption, international legal assistance, financial investigations, and professional training of judicial officials. During his stay in Berlin, Minister Božović also met with Karsten Miler, Chair of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection of the Bundestag, to discuss further enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the judiciary, Montenegro's European integration, and Germany's continued support for reform processes. Minister Božović emphasized that Germany is one of Montenegro's most important partners in building an efficient, transparent, and EU-compliant judicial system. 'By signing this program, we further strengthen our partnership with Germany and create conditions for even stronger institutional cooperation that will contribute to better justice and successful implementation of reforms on our European path,' said Minister Božović. The visit to Berlin reaffirmed the strong partnership between Montenegro and Germany, as well as Germany's ongoing support for Montenegro's European integration and rule of law reforms.
