Search of premises in Andrijevica leads to seizure of submachine gun; one person detained for attacking police officers and illegal possession of weapons
Police officers from the Berane Security Department yesterday carried out activities aimed at locating and seizing firearms, ammunition and explosive substances held illegally. Acting on a warrant issued by the competent court, police searched the family home and auxiliary buildings used by V. M., seizing an MP 40 submachine gun, which the suspect had previously pointed at police officers. The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Berane was informed of the incident and ordered V.’s detention on suspicion of committing the criminal offences of attacking an official in the performance of official duties and illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive substances. The suspect will be brought before the competent prosecutor’s office within the statutory deadline, together with a criminal complaint.
