Vice President Bečić Congratulates Nikšić Municipality Day

In September, on Nikšić Municipality Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Municipality President Mr. Marko Kovačević, the President of the Municipal Assembly Ms. Milica Lalatović Žižić, councilors, and all citizens of Nikšić. Nikšić is a city that has responsibly observed its future since the time of Josip Slade's urban vision from 1883, which laid the foundations of the Nikšić we know today—a city of wide streets, squares, and clear urban order. Slade's vision still reminds us that great cities are not created by chance but through thoughtful planning, knowledge, and a sense of responsibility for what is to come. The city beneath Trebjesa has historically been a city of work, industry, culture, and education, a place from which generations have left a significant mark on Montenegro's history. Today, its strength lies in its ability to transform this tradition into new developmental energy. Let knowledge, creativity, and the potential of its people be the foundation of the city's future. The fact that Nikšić will be a city of development and new opportunities by 2030 adds particular value to its future. This is not only a recognition of its rich cultural heritage but also an opportunity for Nikšić, as an open and creative city, to share its story with Europe and open new spaces for youth, artists, knowledge, and development through culture. Hoping that Nikšić will continue to be a city of growth and new opportunities, I warmly congratulate the citizens of Nikšić on Municipality Day.
