Podgorica: Detained for particularly rude behavior towards a journalist

Journalist A.A., employed at Adria TV, today in the afternoon filed a report with the Podgorica Police Department against an unknown male person, elderly, who was disturbing her in front of her residence building, protesting the parking spot she chose, and behaving particularly rudely towards her, questioning whether she is a journalist and where she is employed. Officers from the Podgorica Police Department immediately responded to the journalist's report, identified the individual, and brought him to the police station. A statement was taken from the person regarding these circumstances, and the public prosecutor in the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was notified about the event. The prosecutor ordered the detention of the individual for committing a misdemeanor under Article will, along with a misdemeanor report, to be brought before the Misdemeanor Court in Podgorica within the legal deadline. Police officers, in coordination with the prosecutor's office, will continue to promptly act on journalists' reports and undertake preventive and repressive measures to protect the rights and integrity of journalists and all media workers, safeguarding their right to free journalistic and investigative work.
