Ibrahimović with Sibiha: Montenegro remains a strong and reliable partner to Ukraine

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović met on the margins of the NATO summit in Ankara with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Taka. The talks confirmed friendly relations between the two countries and a shared commitment to strengthening political dialogue and cooperation. Ibrahimović stated that Montenegro continues to fully support Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, emphasizing that preserving the inviolability of borders is essential for Europe. He highlighted that Russia's aggression against Ukraine further confirmed NATO's importance in maintaining peace, stability, and security, as well as the significance of unity among allies in providing political, military, and financial support to Ukraine. The interlocutors exchanged views on the current security situation and the efforts of the international community aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace. Ibrahimović emphasized that Montenegro supports the efforts of allies to end the war, with the belief that peace must be based on a sustainable agreement and strong security guarantees for Ukraine. He underlined that Ukraine must have the strongest possible negotiating position, which involves continued comprehensive support from partners and allies. Sibiha's Minister thanked Montenegro for its consistent political support, alignment with European policy towards Russia, and ongoing assistance to the Ukrainian people, noting that Ukraine values Montenegro's principled stance and support on Ukraine's European path.
