Montenegrin schools participate in UNESCO project 'Wind of Peace'

Five Montenegrin educational institutions took part in the international project 'Wind of Peace' organized by the Slovenian UNESCO Associated Schools Network and the National Commission for UNESCO Slovenia, in collaboration with participating countries. In June, a virtual handover was held between Osnovna škola 'Bijelo Polje' from Mostar and Osnovna škola 'Novka Ubović' from Podgorica, where students from both schools engaged in intercultural exchange, online socializing, presenting their schools, sharing experiences, and discussing the values of peace, friendship, and solidarity. The project coordinator from Osnovna škola 'Mileva Lajović Lalatović' was English teacher Nikolina Bečanović, supported by colleagues Milka Cerović and Žana Petrušić, as well as the school administration. As part of the activities, students wrote messages in the 'Wind of Peace' notebook and created inspiring videos conveying strong messages globally, emphasizing the importance of peace for our shared future and progress. Students from Nikšić Gymnasium, with mentorship from educator Marica Ognjenović, also participated in writing peace messages and filming videos promoting peace, friendship, and mutual respect. With support from the Petnjica Tourism Organization and KUD 'Bihor' Petnjica, students produced inspiring photo and video materials showcasing Montenegrin tradition, heritage, natural beauty, and culture, sending a powerful message and desire for a safer, more peaceful future for all youth.
