Government Supports Participation of Montenegrin Researchers in Antarctica Expedition 2026/2027
The Government of Montenegro has adopted information on financing the participation of Montenegrin researchers in the Antarctica expedition 2026/2027. The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation has provided support of 20,000 euros for the participation of researchers from Montenegro in an international scientific expedition to Antarctica, planned for late 2026. Funds will be allocated to the Marine Biology Institute of the University of Montenegro, in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement concluded with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation. This continues institutional and financial support for the participation of Montenegrin scientists and researchers in international research expeditions to Antarctica, as well as the cooperation of the Marine Biology Institute of the University of Montenegro with the Bulgarian Antarctic Research Institute. The participation of Montenegrin researchers in such international scientific missions represents an important opportunity to strengthen research capacities, exchange knowledge and experiences, connect with international scientific teams, and increase the visibility of Montenegrin science in the international research space. The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation will continue to support the inclusion of Montenegrin researchers in international programs, projects, and research infrastructure, creating more opportunities for the development and validation of the knowledge and potential of our scientific community through cooperation with relevant international partners.
