Illuminated use of firearms to the detriment of a police officer, suspect identified and detained shortly after

Police officers from the Podgorica Security Department, taking measures and actions to uncover and clarify the criminal act, as well as through intensive operational and intelligence activities, quickly clarified the event from July 25, 2026, when an unknown person around 02:50 AM fired five shots from a pistol towards a police officer's family house. Police-investigative activities resulted in the identification of the suspect, and further actions secured evidence leading to the suspect's detention. (27), suspected of committing the criminal offense of causing general danger in conjunction with illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive materials. The police administration condemns all forms of endangering citizens' and police officers' safety and states that it will continue decisive actions to uncover serious crimes and prosecute their perpetrators. In cooperation with the competent prosecutor's office, police officers will undertake all legally prescribed measures and actions to protect the personal and property safety of citizens, as well as to create conditions for police officers to perform their duties safely, professionally, and without hindrance.
