European Union–Western Balkans Ministerial Forum on Justice and Home Affairs
This year’s European Union–Western Balkans Ministerial Forum on Justice and Home Affairs will be held in Budva, Montenegro, on 5–6 November, under Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. Montenegro’s hosting of an event at this high level confirms the progress it has made in the negotiation process and provides an opportunity to promote regional cooperation and further strengthen cooperation with EU member states, particularly on the rule of law, the judiciary and home affairs. Ireland’s Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan, will represent the Irish presidency, while representatives of the next presiding member state will also participate. A press conference on the joint conclusions of the home affairs session will be held on Thursday, 5 November, at 5:30 p.m. at the Splendid Conference & Spa Resort in Budva, with contributions from Jim O’Callaghan and European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner. A press conference on the joint conclusions of the justice session will be held on Friday, 6 November, at 11:45 a.m. at the same venue, with contributions from Jim O’Callaghan and European Commissioner for Justice Michael McGrath. Media representatives wishing to attend should register by sending their details to Lahira Duraković Šulović at lahira.durakovic@mup.gov.me and lahiradurakovic@gmail.com (telephone: 068 588 992), no later than Tuesday, 3 November.
