New Funding Opportunities under the Horizon Europe Programme 2026–2027

The changes include two new calls under the programme’s horizontal activities: “Transformative Changes towards a Nature-Positive Economy and Society” (Nature-Positive) and “Bridging Actions 2027”, as well as support for the New European Bauhaus Academy. Priority topics include restoring and strengthening ecosystem resilience, biodiversity monitoring, ocean protection, research into the impact of chemical pollutants on nature, combating illegal wildlife trade and the spread of invasive alien species, and researching the links between biodiversity and health through the “One Health” approach. The “Bridging Actions 2027” call aims to improve connections between research and innovation and the market, facilitate the commercialisation of research project results, and prepare the transition to the European Union’s future research and innovation programme for 2028–2034. Topics include valorising the results of previous Horizon Europe projects, developing innovation ecosystems, AI-based digital platforms, autonomous driving and smart mobility, research and technology infrastructures, and developing the skills needed by innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The amendments to the Work Programme also include support for the New European Bauhaus Academy, aimed at improving existing and developing new skills for workers in the construction sector.
