Government of Montenegro Declares September 1st and 2nd Days of Mourning

On the occasion of the tragic event that occurred in Danilovgrad, the Government of Montenegro, on the 31st, based on the consent of the members of the Government, made a decision that Tuesday, September 1st, will be a day of mourning. During the day of mourning, in accordance with the Law on State Symbols and the Day of Statehood of Montenegro, flags will be flown at half-mast on all government buildings, local government buildings, and public institutions. According to the decision, during the day of mourning, public, cultural, and entertainment programs will not be held in public places, and music will not be played in hospitality establishments. Considering the declared days of mourning, the school year in Danilovgrad will start on September 3rd. The President and all members of the Government of Montenegro express their deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
