Over Two Billion Euros in Budget Revenues for the First Eight Months of 2026: Revenues Growing, Capital Investments Higher

Total budget revenues reached 2,005.6 million euros, which is 165.8 million euros or 9% higher than the same period last year, and simultaneously 20.9 million euros above the plan. It is particularly encouraging that personal income tax collection reached 81.3 million euros, or 15.1 million euros more than the previous year, while contributions amounted to 288.2 million euros, with an increase of 32.6 million euros. Excise taxes collected totaled 279.6 million euros, with revenue from excise taxes on tobacco and tobacco products increasing by 23.9 million euros or 26.9%. The positive trend continued in August. Of August's capital expenditures, 35.34 million euros were allocated to general infrastructure, while 167.38 million euros were realized through the Capital Budget in the first eight months. At the same time, the budget deficit for the first eight months was 146.2 million euros, or 1.7% of the estimated GDP, and was 45.2 million euros or 23.6% lower than planned. With over two billion euros in revenue for eight months and more than 230 million euros in capital expenditures, public finances increasingly support the country's development priorities, while responsibly managing the budget and creating space for new investments in infrastructure and the economy.
