Vuković: 'Zero tolerance for law violations' — €99,000 fine in the gaming sector

All operators who do not align their business with the highest standards of transparency and legal obligations will face the strictest legal sanctions, including the permanent revocation of concessions," said Minister of Finance, Mr. Novica Vuković, emphasizing that building a transparent financial system and a decisive fight against financial crime are the absolute priorities of the Government of Montenegro. Instead of the initially planned five AML controls, 12 comprehensive inspections have been successfully completed so far, with a total of 20 AML controls planned by the end of the current year. The results of intensified supervision are already concrete and measurable, and due to identified irregularities and non-compliance with legal obligations from the ZSPNFT, fines totaling €99,000 have been imposed on gaming operators. By the end of the year, a total of 20 AML inspections will be conducted, covering a significant part of the market and further verifying the level of compliance of operators with legal obligations. Institutional coordination has been elevated to the highest level, enabling faster information flow, more efficient data exchange, and more decisive action in cases of suspected violations. The supervision system is based on the principle of zero tolerance for violations of the ZSPNFT, meaning that no obligated entity, regardless of size, market position, or business volume, can expect different treatment regarding law compliance.
