Learning Through Exploration and Play: The Project Approach in Preschool Education

The Institute for Education organized the training course “The Project Approach and Integrated Learning to Foster Children’s Development and Progress,” intended for preschool teachers and professional associates from the public preschool institutions “Sofija Klikovac” in Podgorica and “Mother Teresa” in Tuzi. The training was delivered by trainers and program authors Ljiljana Reljić and Dragica Tvrdišić, with the aim of empowering participants to understand, plan, and apply a project-based approach to learning through an integrated and inquiry-based model that connects children, families, and the community. Speaking about the importance of the program, trainer Ljiljana Reljić emphasized that the project approach to learning has been very well received by colleagues from preschool institutions, and that the sessions provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, as well as to learn through practical work. Registration for the training was carried out through a new application within the “Electronic Portfolio” information system, which enables education professionals to apply electronically for professional development programs organized by the Institute for Education. Participation in all accredited professional development programs organized by the Institute for Education is free of charge, providing education professionals with support for continuous professional development and improving the quality of educational work. The Institute for Education continues to support the professional development of employees in preschool institutions, encouraging the application of modern approaches to learning and the improvement of educational practice in which the child, their interests, and holistic development are at the center of attention.
