Coaching at the Heart of Educator Training for Adult Education

Contemporary approaches to learning and the development of communication and mentoring skills were the focus of a training programme in adult education organized by the Institute for Education, in line with the objectives of the Education Reform Strategy 2025–2035. The programme was attended by 26 participants from the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Institute for Education, the Centre for Vocational Education, the Examination Centre of Montenegro, and primary and secondary schools. The training was opened by MSc Jasna Jovanović, Director of the Directorate for Lifelong Learning at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and Gordana Tmušić Radulović, Assistant Director of the Institute for Education, who emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and strengthening the competencies of those involved in the educational process. The training was led by Dr Marija Pavkov, an expert and educator in education and lifelong learning, with more than 20 years of international experience in developing educational programmes, the professional development of teachers, and evaluating educational initiatives. She has collaborated with the European Commission, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP), UNICEF and other international institutions. Her experience also includes developing adult education programmes, conducting educational research and applying modern digital tools in learning. Such meetings enable the exchange of knowledge and experience, strengthen professional cooperation and introduce participants to contemporary approaches to learning, contributing to the development of educators’ competencies and a higher-quality response to the needs of adult learners in the context of lifelong learning.
