Dignified Memorialization of the Klapuh Family Tragedy Represents a Civilizational Obligation
On the 34th anniversary of the Klapuh family tragedy, it is a moral duty to express respect for the innocent victims, in the interest of a culture of remembrance. However, full justice will not be achieved until all responsible individuals, who are citizens of other countries, serve the legally prescribed sentences. I hereby appeal to the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to proceed with the execution of international obligations in this case, which Montenegro insists on through international legal assistance. Remembering the Klapuh family tragedy obliges us to persistently build a society where impunity has no place, and justice applies equally to all. Dignified memorialization of the Klapuh family tragedy represents fulfilling a civilizational obligation and would be an important contribution to the culture of remembrance.
