Customs Administration Marks Customs Service Day: Modernization of the System and the Invaluable Role of Officers on the Path to the EU
The Customs Administration ceremonially marked Customs Service Day, reviewing key results achieved in the previous period and presenting awards to customs officers who made an exceptional contribution to improving operations and modernizing the institution. Jelena Đukić, Acting Head of the Customs Administration, emphasized that the institution is undergoing major and significant transformations, in which accelerated digitalization and the full implementation of modern information systems play a key role in increasing efficiency, protecting borders, and facilitating foreign trade. “Digitalization gives us powerful tools, but you are the ones who make the key decisions, prevent fraud and irregularities, and safeguard the reputation of this institution,” Jelena Đukić said. This year’s awards and commendations were presented to the most outstanding individuals from various organizational units, who demonstrated the greatest readiness to contribute to the implementation of new projects. Through their dedication, they not only achieve exceptional work results but also set entirely new standards necessary for Montenegro’s integration into the European Union. The Customs Administration remains firmly committed to further strengthening integrity and professionalism, thereby creating a modern, efficient, and transparent customs service in line with European standards.
