Krapović: Airmen and helicopter rescuers of VCG carried out one of the most demanding and complex sea rescue operations

Airmen and helicopter rescuers of the Army of Montenegro carried out one of the most demanding and complex sea rescue operations to date during the night, evacuating a seriously ill Dutch citizen from a ship near Bar. The operation was conducted in nighttime conditions using night vision goggles (NVG) and side winches, requiring high levels of coordination and precision from the helicopter crew and rescue team. Due to doctors' suspicion of meningitis, the rescue team used medical equipment and additional protective measures during the operation. After successfully extracting the patient from the ship with a side winch and transferring him to the helicopter, an urgent transport to Bar was performed, where the patient was handed over to medical staff and taken to the General Hospital in Bar for further treatment. This intervention once again confirms the ability of the Montenegrin Army personnel to respond quickly and efficiently to help calls and support human life protection and rescue in challenging weather and operational conditions. The professionalism, training, and coordination of airmen and the rescue team are key to the successful execution of such complex rescue operations.
