In response to the continuously increasing volume and complexity of cyber threats, from 2025 onwards, information is collected about unique cyber incidents manually processed by CERT.LV cybersecurity specialists, and about warnings sent to internet users through internet service providers regarding potential threats to their devices. Manually processed incidents may include, for example, fraud or virus distribution campaigns reported to CERT.LV by individuals, institutions, or businesses, measures taken to prevent threats related to identified vulnerabilities, or warnings received from automated systems. Data is compiled using the threat matrix developed by the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The combination of these parameters determines the threat's importance category (C6-C1).
