They fly – but never give up: EU aid reaches Ukraine's internally displaced persons
The last time Sweden's RescEU Shelter was activated for Ukraine was at the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022. This time, the EU is sending 250 new emergency shelters that can provide shelter for 1,250 people. – We were a team of six people trained on how to build and adapt these shelters, so they can in turn train others, says Anders. The insulation solution was developed quickly in autumn 2022 to enable winter use. His first international assignment came through a request at the fire station – and marked the start of a series of efforts, including in Africa and after the tsunami in Thailand.
