New Regulation on Fast Frozen Food Intended for Human Consumption
The Official Gazette of Montenegro, issue 98/2026, published the Regulation on fast frozen food intended for human consumption, which enters into force on the 17th. The regulation stipulates the requirements that fast frozen food intended for human consumption must meet, including conditions for the quick freezing process, maintaining a temperature of -18°C or lower during storage and market placement, and the labeling of such products. This regulation transposes Council Directive 89/108/EEC on the approximation of laws of the Member States relating to fast frozen food intended for human consumption into Montenegrin legislation. With the adoption of this regulation, the national legislation is further aligned with EU legal acquis, ensuring a high level of quality and safety of fast frozen food placed on the Montenegrin market.
