In order to provide timely and accurate information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs the public that from July 27th, 2023, 6,331 people from Ukraine entered Montenegro, while 7,045 people from Ukraine left Montenegro during the same period. A total of 17,358 requests for temporary protection approval were submitted (10,037 women and 7,321 men), of which 16,013 requests were approved. The number of requests for extension of temporary protection (considering that extension requests are submitted upon expiry of the one-year permit) in this period is 21,919, with women submitting 12,921 and men 8,998 requests. In 2023, 4,305 extension requests were submitted and 4,299 approved, while in 2024, 5,487 extension requests were submitted, all of which were approved by April 20, 2026, when the deadline for extension expired, totaling 5,529 requests for extension of temporary protection from the beginning of the new decision on granting temporary protection to Ukrainian nationals (March 4, 2026).
