Minister Radunović in Mojkovac: Brskovo potentially the largest tourist attraction in northern Montenegro

This is a site that witnesses a significant period of Mojkovac and Montenegro's history, when the first coins were minted in this area in the 13th century. The project, valued at over seven million euros, envisages a reinterpretation of Brskovo based on relevant historical facts, aiming to valorize this site in tourism, culture, and broader social terms. Minister Radunović assessed that this project has the potential to make the site one of the largest tourist attractions in northern Montenegro and an unavoidable point on the tourist routes of this part of the country. Regarding spatial planning, Mojkovac municipality representatives informed the minister about the current status of the initiative to establish a local planning agency, which is still in the negotiation phase. Minister Radunović reminded of the example of Berane municipality, which concluded an agreement with the national agency to jointly develop an Urban-Planning Plan (PUP), and encouraged Mojkovac officials to consider a similar model if conditions for establishing a local agency are not met soon. The meeting also discussed the legalization process. Mojkovac municipality representatives informed the minister that, in accordance with the law, a competent commission has been formed, and 268 legalization requests have been registered under the new law, with the decision-making process already underway. One of the challenges in further implementation, the representatives highlighted, is limited staffing capacity, especially in areas requiring geodetic expertise.
