Ibrahimović with Satler: Seize the momentum and continue with good dynamics in closing chapters

The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović, met today with the EU Ambassador to Montenegro, Johan Satler, to discuss the current dynamics of Montenegro's accession process, the outcomes and messages of the EU-Western Balkans Summit held in Tivat, as well as preparations for upcoming activities within the Berlin Process. Ibrahimović emphasized that Montenegro remains strongly committed to its European path and is ready to leverage the new political momentum in the enlargement process, with a clear focus on fulfilling obligations and achieving concrete results. 'The EU-Western Balkans Summit in Tivat confirmed that enlargement policy is once again high on the European Union's strategic agenda and created a strong political momentum.' He highlighted that the presence of many high-ranking European officials and the clear support from EU member states and institutions are important confirmations of Montenegro's European perspective, but also add responsibility to continue decisively fulfilling obligations on the way to EU membership by 2028. Satler congratulated Montenegro on the progress made in the accession process and particularly praised the good dynamics in closing negotiation chapters, emphasizing the importance of the results achieved in the previous period. Ibrahimović stated that Montenegro will focus its presidency on concrete results and initiatives of importance to the citizens of the region, reaffirming its role as a constructive actor in the region.
