Prime Minister Spajić hosted European water polo leaders: We want the continental championship in 2028 in a new pool in Podgorica
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, hosted in Podgorica the President and Vice President of European Aquatics, Antonio Hozea Silva and Josip Varvodić. The meeting was attended by Minister Majda Adžović and Minister Zoran Jojić, and the Ministry of Public Works presented the design of the new indoor pool, which will be ready by early 2028. We believe that then, in front of full stands of our fans, we will celebrate Montenegro's accession to the European Union and the successes of our 'sharks,' said Prime Minister Spajić. The Prime Minister emphasized that Montenegro, through this project, sends a message that it is ready at the highest level to organize the most demanding sports events. The head of EA stated that Europe has a very small number of pools at the level planned in Podgorica, and that several countries, along with Montenegro, have expressed interest in hosting the competition. A decision is expected in October, and with government guarantees, Montenegro has a great chance to secure a home ground for the 'sharks' at the last major competition before the 2028 Olympic Games.
