Ibrahimović receives UK Ambassador Neris Džouns: Strategic partnership confirms close and friendly relations

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimović, received today the UK Ambassador Neris Džouns on a courtesy visit, wishing her success in her diplomatic mission in Montenegro. Minister Ibrahimović expressed satisfaction with the substantive political dialogue that Montenegro and the United Kingdom continuously maintain at a high level, both bilaterally and within multilateral frameworks, noting that the intensity and quality of political contacts confirm the strategic nature of the partnership between the two countries. He highlighted the importance of the UK's ongoing support for the region's European integration process, emphasizing that British engagement significantly contributes to strengthening stability, security, and prosperity in the Western Balkans. In this context, Ibrahimović thanked the UK for its continuous and substantive support for Montenegro's chairmanship of the Berlin Process this year, and for its readiness to share experiences, expertise, and best practices after successfully presiding over the process last year. Ambassador Džouns expressed gratitude for the reception and readiness to contribute during her tenure to further strengthen the close and friendly relations between Montenegro and the UK, as well as deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The interlocutors agreed that there is a strong foundation for further improving bilateral relations and intensifying cooperation within the strategic partnership, with a particular focus on Montenegro's European perspective, regional security and stability, and specific initiatives that contribute to economic and social development.
