First Falling Walls Lab in Montenegro gathers young scientists and innovators

Ms. Tatjana Ćalasan, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, supported on behalf of the Ministry the organization of Falling Walls Lab Podgorica – a global interdisciplinary pitch competition for students and young professionals, organized for the first time in Montenegro. The event was held at the Budo Tomović Cultural Center, in partnership with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Embassy in Podgorica, and the University of Montenegro. Three minutes for an idea that changes the world: Falling Walls Lab is one of the most prestigious global forums for young scientists and innovators, where participants have only three minutes to present an idea or solution with the potential to change something important before a professional jury. Ćalasan emphasized that the Ministry supports such platforms with the deep conviction that Montenegro has something to offer the global scientific community. In 2023, participants will be among 100 finalists from around the world competing for the 'Breakthrough of the Year' award in the Emerging Talents category. Organizing Falling Walls Lab Podgorica is part of the Ministry's commitment to strengthening the scientific research community and connecting Montenegro with global scientific networks, in accordance with the Education Reform Strategy 2025–2035 and the Government of Montenegro's reform agenda.
