Dukaj: Trust and regional cooperation are key to a safer and more connected digital Western Balkans

Building a safer and more connected digital space, more affordable roaming, the development of digital identity, and more accessible electronic services for citizens are among the key goals of the eighth Digital Summit of the Western Balkans, said Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj, stressing that trust and regional cooperation are the foundations of successful digital transformation. Opening the eighth Digital Summit of the Western Balkans in Herceg Novi, hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration, he said he was deeply honored that participants had gathered around the same mission. “As we move decisively toward the rapid and deserved accession of all of us to the European Union, we are proud that, from Montenegro, a leader in European integration, we are sending the message that our region is mature and ready for major European achievements. Therefore, I would like to express my deep and sincere gratitude to our key partners—the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), headed by Secretary General Amer Kapetanović, as well as all our other partners,” Dukaj said. “That is why, starting tomorrow, we will sit at the same table—to build a safer digital space through dialogue, ensure more affordable roaming, develop digital identity, and provide better e-services for all our citizens.” He stressed that such visions could not be achieved alone, expressing gratitude to the general sponsor, MTEL, which recognized the importance of this moment and demonstrated that it is a pillar of the digital transformation of our society.
