Berane suspect for serious theft: stole money, then reported to police that an unknown person committed the act

In activities aimed at combating property crime and clarifying criminal acts in this area, officers of the General Crime Suppression Unit of the Berane Police Department undertook a series of criminal investigations that resulted in filing criminal charges against a person from Berane, suspected of committing a serious theft against an employer, and then reporting to the police that an unknown person committed the crime. Specifically, police officers, upon order from the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane, filed criminal charges against A.B. (21), suspected of committing a serious theft combined with false reporting. Through criminal investigation and police activities, it was established that A.B., allegedly employed at a company from Podgorica, damaged a window on a company-owned official vehicle and stole 800 euros from inside the vehicle. In an attempt to conceal his illegal actions, he reported to the Berane Police Department that unknown persons caused material damage to the vehicle and stole money from inside. Following suspicion that he committed the reported crimes, a criminal complaint was filed against him upon the order of the competent state prosecutor.
