Organized Return of Montenegrin Citizens from Sicily: Convoy Departure Tonight from Catania at 20:00

The Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been monitoring the situation in Sicily since the beginning and are in constant contact with our citizens who, due to disruptions in air traffic caused by the activity of Mount Etna, were prevented from returning to Montenegro. Through a proactive approach and coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Montenegrin Embassy in Rome, and the Montenegrin Embassy in Tirana, we have secured an alternative way for their return to Montenegro. A bus transport from Catania to Bari will be organized for our citizens, where representatives of the Montenegrin Embassy in Rome will wait for them and accompany them on the ferry to Durrës. The evacuation convoy is scheduled to depart tonight from Catania (Piazza Stazione) at 20:00, arriving in Bari in the early morning hours. We call on Montenegrin citizens currently in Catania who have not yet contacted the Montenegrin Embassy or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to do so as soon as possible if they wish to be included in the organized evacuation convoy. Assisting Montenegrin citizens remains a priority for the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to provide timely and concrete support in extraordinary circumstances and help our citizens return safely to Montenegro.
