Mojkovac: Police officer detained suspected of abuse of official position

It is suspected that he, using his official position and authority, unlawfully conducted traffic control, intentionally stopping vehicles with foreign license plates, and then demanding money from the drivers to allegedly exempt them from further prosecution. Yesterday, although he was not scheduled to work, he unlawfully used his official position and authority by installing flashing lights on his personal passenger vehicle and moving along the route Lepenac–Mojkovac, following vehicles with foreign license plates. He then presented himself to the injured party as a traffic police officer controlling a special vehicle – a 'pursuit vehicle', and informed her that she had committed multiple traffic violations, which, according to him, carry fines of 300 euros, three penalty points, and a two-month driving ban. The injured party reported the incident to the Mojkovac Department of Security, after which police officers took actions to establish all facts and circumstances, collected necessary information, and informed the relevant public prosecutor's office. The Police Directorate, in order to protect citizens, preserve institutional integrity, and strengthen public trust in police work, remains firmly committed to consistently implementing principles of legality, professional responsibility, and zero tolerance towards corruption and all forms of abuse of official position within its ranks. Police officers will continue their decisive fight against all forms of crime, with ongoing reforms aimed at protecting and improving the integrity of the police profession, as well as prosecuting all individuals whose actions undermine the reputation of the police, public trust, and the rule of law.
