Fifth International Scientific Symposium “Days of the Scientific Diaspora 2026” Opened
Ms Tatjana Ćalasan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, addressed guests and participants at the opening of the Fifth International Scientific Symposium “Days of the Scientific Diaspora 2026” and highlighted the importance of connecting researchers from Montenegro with Montenegrin scientists working at leading universities and research institutions worldwide. Ćalasan emphasized that the Cooperation Programme with the Scientific Diaspora has established an institutional framework for long-term collaboration, which has been made concrete through the signing of agreements for ten projects, with Ministry support exceeding one million euros. She particularly underscored the importance of these projects for mentoring and training young researchers, developing research infrastructure and joint scientific publications, as well as preparing new international projects. “Montenegro’s future is being written precisely by those who believe that knowledge knows no borders and who, through their every action, bring it back to where they came from—to their country,” Ćalasan said. She thanked the Institute for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies of the University of Montenegro for its contribution to connecting the domestic scientific community with the diaspora. Mirsad Azemović, Minister of the Diaspora; Prof. Dr Vladimir Božović, Rector of the University of Montenegro; and Prof. Dr Nedeljko Latinović, Chair of the Programme Committee, also spoke at the ceremonial opening.
