Training for pesticide users held in Nikšić
As a continuation of the specialist course for professional pesticide users and in accordance with the National Plan for the Sustainable Use of Plant Protection Products for 2021-2026, a training was held in Nikšić on July 23rd. During several expert lectures, participants had the opportunity to further educate themselves on proper pesticide application, good agricultural practice principles, device inspection and preparation for treatment, risks, and first aid measures. The lectures on Proper Use of Plant Protection Products and the Code of Good Agricultural Practice were delivered by independent advisor Dr. Dragana Radunović from the Directorate for Advisory Services of the Ministry of Agriculture. Topics covered included correct and safe pesticide application, from procurement and purchase to application methods and timing, protective measures during work, disposal of packaging, and more. Due to excessive industrialization in agriculture (use of additives, hormones, pesticides, antibiotics, etc.), consumer dissatisfaction, loss of trust in control institutions, and increased demand for safe food have arisen. Since 2000, the European Union has introduced a stricter food production control system through new legal standards.
