Published tender for design and construction of the Smokovac–Tološi highway section

The procedure is conducted in accordance with the rules and standards of the EBRD, which involves applying international procedures and criteria in the selection process of qualified bidders. It is planned to connect the existing Smokovac interchange with the future Tološi interchange, thereby improving traffic connectivity of the capital and creating conditions for more efficient road network operation. The route passes through challenging terrain, crossing the valleys of the Širalija and Zeta rivers, a railway line, existing road infrastructure, as well as the Veli Brdo and Tološko Polje areas. The project envisages the construction of a highway with four traffic lanes and two stopping lanes, designed speeds of 100 to 110 km/h, in accordance with TEM standards. On this section, the construction of multiple bridges and a two-lane tunnel is planned, with a total length accounting for approximately 20 percent of the entire route length. The announcement of the pre-qualification call marks the beginning of a new phase in the realization of one of Montenegro's most significant infrastructure projects, aimed at improving traffic connectivity, increasing road safety, and creating prerequisites for further economic development of the country.
