Herceg Novi: Driver Arrested After Offering Money to Police Officer Following Traffic Violation and Locking Himself in Vehicle

(40) from Kosovo, a citizen of the United Kingdom, suspected of committing the criminal offense of bribery. Namely, police officers from the Herceg Novi Security Department noticed this individual yesterday evening during a traffic violation – overtaking over a solid, uninterrupted line. He offered money to the police officer conducting the traffic control in an attempt to avoid taking official action – issuing a misdemeanor ticket for the traffic violation. To evade further police procedures and sanctions, he locked himself in a passenger vehicle with his wife and two minor children, refusing to exit the vehicle from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM the following day. Police officers, mindful of the safety and protection of the minors in the vehicle, acted cautiously and patiently, approaching the situation peacefully and negotiating with B.F., involving an Albanian language interpreter. Subsequently, around 4:00 AM, the individual voluntarily opened the vehicle doors and surrendered to the police officers without the use of force or physical intervention.
