Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovations Open Up New Investment Opportunities
The Director General of the Directorate for Innovation and Smart Specialisation at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation participated in the panel “Digital Frontiers: Investing in Montenegro’s AI & Digital Future,” held today as part of the international investment conference AIM 2026, dedicated to opportunities for attracting investment in digital technologies and artificial intelligence in Montenegro. During her presentation, she highlighted the importance of Montenegro’s new Smart Specialisation Strategy 2026–2031, which, by connecting science, business and innovation, creates a strategic framework for strengthening competitiveness and attracting investment, particularly in ICT and digital innovation. In this context, she also emphasised concrete measures supporting the innovation community, including a new call for proposals to promote research and innovation, the development of digital skills, and personalised expert support for participation in the Horizon Europe programme. The importance of initiatives such as Station M was particularly underscored, as they help connect the innovation ecosystem, develop domestic technology companies and create new investment opportunities. Speaking about priorities for the coming period, Vujičić stressed the importance of preparing the research and innovation community for the opportunities that Montenegro’s future membership in the European Union will bring, noting that knowledge, talent and strong cooperation among institutions, businesses and investors are essential for attracting investment and implementing concrete projects. The conference was opened by Mr Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of Montenegro, and Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission.
