Personal Data Protection and Children’s Online Safety Discussed at “Petru Rareș” Theoretical High School in Soroca
On November 2, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (NCPDP) continued its campaign to inform and raise awareness among the school community by organizing a training course entitled “Personal Data Protection and Children’s Online Safety” for students of the “Petru Rareș” Public Theoretical High School in the municipality of Soroca. The campaign aimed to increase awareness of personal data protection and children’s online safety by promoting responsibility and best practices for intervention and support. During the information session, several topics relevant to the students’ age were addressed. An important part of the training focused on presenting the main online dangers, such as communicating with strangers, excessive disclosure of personal information, and receiving unwanted messages, which can endanger children’s safety. Students were encouraged to take precautionary measures, including creating strong passwords, securing their personal accounts, and seeking help from adults when faced with suspicious or dangerous situations. By participating in the training, students learned more about protecting their privacy in the digital environment and the importance of communication in this regard. Through such activities, the NCPDP aims to help educate the younger generation in the spirit of digital responsibility, respect for privacy, and personal data protection.
