Laboratory soil analyses conducted within the ECOBASE project

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management conducted laboratory analysis of agricultural land within the international ECOBASE project, marking one of the key activities aimed at better understanding soil resource status and sustainable management. The analysis included 56 soil samples, with a broad set of agrochemical parameters relevant for assessing soil fertility and quality. The ECOBASE project (Eco-Friendly Nature-based solutions to mitigate soil degradation) is funded by the Interreg VI-B IPA Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation Program (IPA ADRION) 2021–2027, focusing on applying nature-based solutions to mitigate soil degradation and strengthen sustainable land resource management in the Adriatic-Ionian region. For each sample, parameters such as soil reaction, electrical conductivity, carbonate content, organic matter, and the availability of essential nutrients and microelements were determined. The data obtained provide a valuable basis for further planning measures in soil protection and improvement, as well as for decision-making based on reliable and measurable indicators. Thus, the results from the ECOBASE project will enable monitoring changes in soil quality and fertility over time, and linking these with yield data and other production indicators.
