Focus Group with Employers Held as Part of EDU5WB Project
The Center for Vocational Education organized its 15th focus group at the 'Tara' hotel in Bečići with employers and representatives of relevant institutions from the tourism and hospitality sector. The activity was conducted within the Erasmus+ project EDU5WB – Empowering VET Education at Level 5 in the Western Balkans. The focus group gathered 19 participants, including representatives of hotels and tourism companies, local tourism organizations, travel agencies, professional associations, secondary vocational schools, the Employment Agency of Montenegro, the Union of Employers of Montenegro, higher education institutions, and the Center for Vocational Education. The goal of the focus group was to explore labor market needs in the tourism and hospitality sector through open and structured discussion, identify the most prominent skill deficiencies, and consider opportunities for developing qualifications at Level 5 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). During the discussion, participants pointed out a significant shortage of qualified workforce in almost all segments of the sector. The need for personnel with practical competencies, communication skills, business etiquette, and the ability to work independently was particularly emphasized.
