September 28, 2026 – The Security Council Sanctions Committee against ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaeda amended one item on its sanctions list
The amendment to the sanctions list against ISIL and Al-Qaeda is available on the Sanctions Committee's website at the following link: https://press.un.org/en/2026/sc16465.doc.htm. The list is regularly updated based on relevant information received from member states and international and regional organizations. In accordance with Resolution 2610(2021), the Committee has enabled access to a summarized explanation of the reasons for listing individuals at the link: https://main.un.org/securitycouncil/en/sanctions/1267/aq_sanctions_list/summaries. The consolidated sanctions list is also updated after all changes are made to the sanctions list against ISIL and Al-Qaeda: https://main.un.org/securitycouncil/en/content/un-sc-consolidated-list. We urge obliged entities under the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing to regularly review these lists to fulfill their legal obligations.
