Report on the Inspection of Traps and Fruits for Olive Fruit Fly

We inform you that the inspection of traps for controlling the olive fruit fly population in the areas of Bar and Ulcinj (large olive groves area – Valdanos) was conducted on 08.07.2026. Simultaneously, fruit samples were collected from each site for laboratory examination, which was performed on 09.07. The flies were caught in McPhail traps at all sites with varying numbers, and on yellow plates only at Bar 1, Bar 3, and Valdanos 2 sites. The overall population was primarily determined by fruit examination in the laboratory, which showed that the sampled fruits did not indicate a need for chemical intervention. Considering the zero infestation level and current meteorological conditions, chemical treatment is not recommended at this time.
