Cybersecurity During Summer Holidays: Tips for a Safe Trip
During summer holidays, the phone becomes one of the most important travel tools: we store reservations, tickets, documents, photos, use maps, make payments, and access our personal or work accounts. Scams related to bookings and tourist offers, phishing messages, public Wi-Fi networks, loss or theft of devices, and overexposure of information on social networks are some of the risks to consider during travel. If you receive an unexpected email or SMS asking you to confirm a reservation, update payment details, or click a link, verify the request through the official website or app. For sensitive actions, such as using banking services, managing important accounts, or transmitting confidential information, prefer mobile internet or a trusted connection. Photos of boarding passes, reservations, or travel documents may contain full names, reservation numbers, barcodes, QR codes, or other data that should not be made public. Updating devices, enabling MFA, verifying messages and reservations, using public networks carefully, and protecting shared information are simple measures that can prevent incidents with serious consequences.
