Budva: Serbian Citizen Detained for Attempted Murder; Charged with Two Other Crimes – Wanted by NCB Interpol Belgrade for Serious Homicide in Serbia

Officers from the Budva Department of Security, upon the order of the State Prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, detained D.Dž (22) from Belgrade, a Serbian citizen, last night due to suspicion that on the same day, September 8, 2026, around 12:30 PM, he entered a hospitality establishment in Budva with the intent to use a firearm – a pistol – to take the life of O.K. Police officers seized a bag from him containing a firearm – a Smith & Wesson pistol with a cocked hammer, with a round in the chamber and 12 rounds in the magazine, which are key elements of the criminal offenses of attempted serious murder, illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive materials, and forgery of documents. He was ordered to be brought before the competent state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica with a criminal report, within the legal deadline, due to suspicion of committing these crimes. Police authorities, in coordination with the relevant prosecutor's office, continue intensive activities to identify all persons involved in planning and executing the attempted serious homicide, as well as providing logistical support to this internationally wanted individual.
