Contract Signed Worth 53.7 Million Euros for Reconstruction of Berane - Rožaje Road

Acting Director of the Traffic Directorate Luka Mugoša signed a contract with representatives of the consortium, consisting of Xingtai Road and Bridge Construction Group from China and Makimsan Asfalt Taahhüt İnşaat from Turkey, for the reconstruction of the M-2 main road from Berane to Rožaje. The tender process was conducted in accordance with European Investment Bank procedures, and the works will be financed from an EIB loan and Montenegro Budget funds. The value of the contracted works amounts to 53,676,543.27 euros excluding VAT, with a project completion deadline of three years. The project includes reconstructing approximately 30 kilometers of the main road from Berane to Rožaje, involving widening the carriageway, reconstructing existing tunnels, repairing bridges, and building retaining walls. The implementation of this project will significantly improve road infrastructure and traffic safety on this important route and one of the most significant road connections in northern Montenegro.
