Minister Ćulafić: I believe that we as a country and society are ready to resist hybrid threats

Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Northern Development Damjan Ćulafić stated in the informational program VINK on Televizija Nikšić that hybrid threats, which were announced by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, can affect the temporary closure of Chapter 27, as well as the closure of all other chapters that are not yet closed. But I deeply believe that Montenegro as a country is mature enough, that its society is sufficiently mature to understand that such a thing is not in good faith towards Montenegro, regardless of whether it comes through, so to speak, internal servants of foreign centers of power or from some unfulfilled individuals, personalities, involved elements, it is all the same," said Ćulafić. "In any case, both as a person and as a minister, I am ready for such a thing, to bear the burden, but I deeply believe that we as a country have matured enough and that our security system is at a high level, and I personally think that we as the Government are sufficiently coherent to bring this work to an end in the next two or three months with the same degree and level of success with which we have led this process so far," he emphasized. According to him, the issue involves the construction of a factory where packaging, sorting, composting, recycling, and similar activities will take place, i.e., the proper management of waste, and what remains of that waste will be transported to the Livade landfill in Podgorica. He added that the initial decision of Elektroprivreda was to lease the hall to Montenegro for 20 years, but considering the arrangement with the World Bank and the need for long-term use of the hall, the Elektroprivreda Supervisory Board approved its lease to the state for 30 years. "We can also exclusively announce that the Elektroprivreda Supervisory Board approved the lease of that hall for 30 years to the state of Montenegro, and I believe that this way we have resolved a key issue, which is the location issue," the minister concluded.
